maine coon cat basher

maine coon cat basher Basher was our first Maine Coon.

We showed him at the FIFE/Maine Coon Guild show at Worthing in August 2007 where he won the award for "Best Male Neuter" 2007.

He also did very well at the TICA show in Maidstone on 8/9th September 2007. He got first in Colour and first in Division in all ten rings with the exception of one second in Division. He also won Best of Breed in one ring, which was excellent. As he finalled twice on the second day he is now a Champion (which he has always been to us anyway !).

At the TICA show in Lincoln on 23rd September he finalled again in an All Breeds ring so he is now a Grand Champion.

As of November 2007 we are retiring Basher from showing. He does not really seem to like it very much and gets agitated being cooped up in a cage all day long. So it is time for him to hang up his boots as a showcat.

Basher started our passion for Maine Coons. We now have seven spread across the different family members. (Not including 8 kittens and two more litters on the way !).

The picture below shows why Maine Coons have two layers of thick waterproof fur, furry ears, big furry padded paws, a huge furry neck ruff and a huge furry wraparound tail (notice repetition of the word "fur"). He will sit out in the cold and rain for hours and not bat an eyelid. It might be a wild guess but there are probably not too many Sphinxes that would do that !
